NOEL ASMAR STORY

Noel Asmar believes in the power of design. She entered the world of uniforms after a career in hotel management that exposed her to the way a uniform can empower and motivate a staff. The sight of hotel staff in ill-fitting, worn out, hand-me-down uniforms ignited a feeling in Noel that something needed to change. Already running a small women’s collection custom garments, Noel took the initiative to make new uniforms for the staff who had so selflessly devoted their entire careers to the care and wellbeing of others. This thoughtful gift encouraged the staff and allowed them to feel united as a part of something bigger. This experience exposed Noel to the incredible power of a uniform.

Constantly inspired by the people around her, Noel continued her design journey after returning to Canada from her management days with international hoteliers. She was inspired to reinvent the “spa uniform” after seeing her sister’s discomfort with the current styles available. By creating a modern silhouette for the spa tunic, Noel revolutionized the spa industry by launching her first company SpaUniforms.com in 2002.

After 14 years, Noel continues to explore new ideas and lead in the next movement of uniforms. Her continued commitment to empower people is expressed not only through her uniforms, but also in her personal achievements and involvement in the spa and hospitality industries. Noel sits on the Board of Directors for the International ISPA Association and was recently selected to uniform the Canadian Equestrian Team for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. She has also grown her brand with the launch of her contemporary women’s fashion label. Her designs have garnered international acclaim, features in Harpers Bazaar and Vogue, while her continuous pursuit to innovate and create has led her to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 20 Female Entrepreneurs. Noel continues to design globally recognized collections that offer timeless silhouettes with a sophisticated edge that are made for the way you move.

MAKING PEOPLE FEEL GOOD, FEELS GOOD, AND MY JOURNEY INTO UNIFORMS WAS INSPIRED BY AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
